Szulok bath spa resort

 

You may refresh your self in a solid, pleasant place if you visit the spa of Szulok. Bathing here is mostly recommended for those who have rheumatism. Inside the complex there are thermal pools and a swimming pool for those who like to do sports.

History

The first source which mentioned the name of Szulok dates back before the 12C. The settlement of the Middle Ages became deserted during Turkish times in the 17C. In the 18C its new owner, István Széchenyi called German settlers to the village. The special Swabian houses of Szulok were built by these new settlers. During the 20C it became famous for tobacco cultivating. Nowadays tourism is getting more and more important, especially after the first bathing facilities were built.

This place is mostly recommended for those who like quiet places and villages with familiar atmosphere. Those who like to know more about the folk culture of this land should visit the Slovakian Folk Museum. You may see here displays of folk wearing, furniture and about agriculture.
