Climatic spa Ľubochňa is situated in the mountains Veľká Fatra in the long valley of Ľubochnianka west of Ružomberok.
The spa exists since the 19th century. At that time several spa villas that served to well-to-do clientele were built here. Some of these buildings still survive.
Endocrinological Institute seats in one of them since 1948. The Institute greatly contributes to therapy of disorders involved with the thyroid gland or metabolism.
