Basic description:
This bath spa resort is one of the oldest in Slovakia. Lucky bath spa is located in mountaneous, south facing valley, under the hillside of Choc, between Orava and Liptov region, 621 meters above the sea level. It is 14 km far north-east of Ruzomberok, which is 280 km far from the capital Bratislava on the way Bratislava-Zilina-Kosice.
How to get there:
This bath spa resort is situated only 75 kilometers far from the international airport in Poprad (High Tatras). You can get there by car by highway or use the train or bus connection.
By plane from international airport in Poprad, then by train or bus to Ruzomberok (80 km) and from here - by bus or taxi to Lucky (15 km)

History:
Lucky bath spa belongs to the oldest spa in Slovakia. Most of present balneohistorians connect the history of the spa with the written balneographic notices of H. J. N. Crantz "Gesundbrunnen der Osterreichischen Monarchie" from 1777. The history of bath spa has been written since 1761, when the proprietor, Adam Turjanský, built the first bath house. It is also worth mentioning the year 1736, when Matej Bel reported the bath spa in his work "Notitia Hungarie novae historico-geographica". The Lucky bath spa and its healing properties have been written about by such authorities of balneology as Dr. Vietoris, who performed the first analysis of the springs in Lucky. The prefect of this manor, Wisner von Morgenstern, ordered the construction of the new building with the large dining room and 17 guest rooms. In the mid-19 century, a new sanatorium was built here. It was following 1948, that Lucky obtained the base of the modern, scientifically based treatment.

Applications
Thermal mineral water from the Valentin spring(32 °C) is a decisive factor in the complex bath cure. It is used in basin in its natural form and after warming is also used in all separate baths.
Mineral thermal water in Lucky bath & spa are classified as natural, curative and slightly mineralized, sulphate-bicarbonate, calcium-magnesium, carbonic, hypotonic, and lukewarm waters. According to creating their chemical composition, they are of petrogenous, and carbonate-sulphatogenous character. They have weak calcium-sulphate type of composition. Free CO2 content is an important gaseous component, concurrent in the forming of final composition of water.
Although the spa bath cure of locomotive and gynecologic diseases is and must be complex, the centre of cure consist in physiotherapeutic acts based on the use of natural curative sources.
Basin - used for idle cure for 15/20 minutes and hydrokinetic therapy (group exercises and swimming).
Bath cure - is an appropriate form for balneotherapy, including:

Paraffin - local application in the form of hot pack, depending on diagnosis and prescription. Warmed up to 56 oC.

Turf - pure with content of organic substance of 85-95 % is used, which is modified by mineral water into dense mash. Such mineral concentrated substance is applied locally in the form of packs on the zone of contracted pelvis in locomotive apparatus diseases.
